Have been busy nad not able to post so I am doing a little catchup. I have a nice little streak going.

Thursday I got time to work the permission I got for returning the class ring. I found 57 coins for $2.65, a 1950 silver dime, a 1973 National Jamboree hat badge, and a hem weight.

Friday I went to a school sports field and found 68 coins for $4.22 and a smashed sterling ring with a missing stone. I looked for the stone, but no luck.

Today I finished the home permission with the CZ 21 and went over it again with the Excalibur. Found 59 more coins one of them a 1947 silver quarter.

Over the weekend we went camping with our daughter and her family and brought along 2 other grand children. They had a swimming area with a beach. I could only detect in the early morning before the crowds hit the beach, but I did manage to find 14 coins worth $1.42, two silver chains, a silver earring and a 14k gold earring using my ATPRO. The pendant on the broken chain is plated copper.

Of course I found the usual sinkers and fishing equipment. My grandkids will never need to pay for fishing equipment as long as they live. Most all of the finds including the fishing gear was found in the water. The beach was pretty quiet.

When I detect with the ATPRO I dig all mid and high tone signals. I look at the VDI numbers, but only use them as a reference. For those of you who go by the VDI numbers to determine if you dig you might want to reconsider. I dug 9 or 10 pieces of aluminum foil that bounced around between 39 and 42. That gold earring sounded exactly the same and bounced around between 39 and 42. So if I went by the VDI numbers that earring would still be in the sand waiting for someone else to find.

In the past this swimming area has produced a lot more coins and more jewelry. When we were swimming I noticed that very few people were wearing jewelry and most of the people were paying for their food at the snack shack with credit and debit. Very little cash was used. It will make fewer things to find in the future.

All in all no really fantastic finds, but at least some silver and gold and fun finding what the ground has hidden for me to find.

Keep swingin.
