Silver Sword and sword nots, pin medal, badge, broach? Named

On back hand inscribed HANDWROUGHT BY HUNTSMAN Sterling. This sword badge weighs quite a bit with the braided sterling chain grip and the size. It measures 4 3/4" inches long. The clasp is in great working order. It looks like it was made to look similar to the early Naval Cutlass. Would anyone know this silversmith and what it would have been made for? Thanks, Bill
