hello.

these are two thumbnails I found some time ago. ;D

the open one was made around 1700

the other one with the flowers was made around 1780

greatings bubbas ;D

Here in the US, they are called "thimbles". Neat finds! :)
 
Nice...I like finding thimbles too and have a few of them now! Thanks for posting!

hi guys.

I can tell the age ,because I have a book about old thimbles. ;)

that book has pictures of thimbels from the 4th century untill modern thimbles. ;D

I've only found a few brass ones, and one aluminum one. No silver ones... yet. :'(
 
Nice thinmbles.

I have some with designs on the bottom also. They are hard to find over here in silver also. But they do come up.

Nice! Those silver ones are worth a few bob, there are keen collectors after them. That's a nice little collection you've got there!!!

I have found a lot more thimbles ,over the years. ;)

Wow! Those are cool bubbas, and I've seen them go for big €€€€ at antique fairs. I've never found a single one, you must be hunting around old sewing shops or something????
