What’s your grossest find?

It says “Make your first attachment the image you want to be used as the thumbnail.” OK. 😂. We’re sanded in like never before. I have so much canslaw I might try to make a can. Using my 12” coil today before sunrise. And running sensitivity wide open on 25. Still managed to pull this teeny little gold cross attached to a fingernail with other bling. I thought the two overages from crematoriums were my grossest finds… until today. 🤢

My grossest find was a rat trap with a dead, partially decade, dead rat.

Human remains, very likely from the Civil war on the Chancellorsville battlefield. the area was being cleared for a subdivision. bones were scattered across the worksite. the Sherrif was contacted, they showed up and put some bone in a trash bag and left., work never stopped on the site. loads of relics recovered by many hunters.

I walked up human remains as well. It too was a spread out skeleton. I turned them over to the game warden. The remains were checked by some state Offical and it was suspected that they were Native American. Flood of 1994, Crisp County Georgia.

I've happened upon native American skulls and other bones that have washed out or otherwise been exposed many times while artifact hunting.
I always properly cover them up.

Yeah, digging up the dead is no fun. Mine was a good signal from a dog collar....still on the dog.....

Late 80s was in Okinawa, was making a recreational dive on the western side of the island at a place nick named "The Horse Shoe" it was high tide so we needed to wade across the flats to get to the drop off. As we are wading out we come across a floating pile of organs. We started freaking out not knowing if it was a crime scene or shark attack. We were just about to turn around and go call the authorities and then I noticed a small tuft of goat hair attached to the gut pile.

Years back I dug up voodoo dolls wrapped in foil. They were made of wax and had some pins stuck in it. A male and female. I didn’t realize what it was until I got to my buddies house and went through my finds pouch. Unwrapped the foil, Focused in on the items. And realized what I had in my hands. My buddy Evan asked me to get them out of his garage. I took them and put them right back where I found them.

I found teeth from Native Americans washing out of a large Indian mound on the St. Johns River here in Florida. I took some pictures but didn't touch them.

I don’t know where that word “overages” came from in my post. It was supposed to say Toe Tags, from crematoriums. You all have some pretty creepy tales. 👍

A dead body in a Forest Preserve. She was a known drug user and "Lady of the night". I don't know how much effort was put into her investigation, because they never caught the killer. The authorities figured she was murdered and dumped just the night before I went on my hunt. She hadn't been there 12 hours according to their estimates.
