I went out to a new site today. We had researched it and hit it hard today.

This is the result.

A 17th-18th century silver trade brooch. I am still speechless

Nice find...I'm still looking for a trade brooch!

Yup, I would be putting that one in the scrap silver box.
Congrats on a super find,
ZDD

Is that something Native Americans would of had? I have read accounts from my area in the early 1800's about settlers seeing some native americans with 50 or more " silver brooches" on them. One item I would love to find! What did that register as when you found it?

That is exactly what it is Helix.

It was a 12:36 on the ctx. It was on edge mostly.

Great find! :icon_thumleft: I didn't realize that's what that was.

that's fantastic...still looking for my first!

So important to keep everything, specially when you don't know what it is

Very nice finds always a rush when you find the gold & silver congrats:icon_thumright:

Absolutely stunning find DH! A find of a lifetime for me anyway! Given the history of the piece, it's significance to the history of the area, and it's rarity, I vote BANNER all day long.
