I recently found this mystery item that I think was a tool or weapon. At first, I thought it was made from wood or bone but I don't think so. :icon_scratch: I think it is ceramic due to the weight. It is smooth and covered with a patina from use. Both ends are smooth and rounded. Dimensions: 9inx1in. It fits in my hand perfectly. It is not sharp so I don't think it was a weapon. It is not a netting needle because it does not have a hole or hook for threading. It has a number of marks on it like someone might have been keeping count. It is so simple yet it is baffling. Any guesses? Thanks! stick_tool.webpstick_tool2.webpstick_tool3.webp

, I believe that item is almost certainly bone. very old bone. it's heavy because it's in the process of fossilizing. it very closely resembles a native american artifact called a bone pin. I think you should post that in pre colonial american indian artifact forum.

GB is rite on this one. Put it up on the artifacts page. Very nice pin for sure. You will get a lot of comments on it.
