Looks like a pretty good technique. Hard to screw up a coin that has been in the dirt for 80 years or more. Probably a good way to get in display shape. I doubt most coins that have been in the ground for extended periods of time would recieve nothing better than About Good grade at the very best, anyways.

After reading this post a few months ago I finally tried it last week.
I put a heavily encrusted (no date) Buffalo Nickel in GoJo for approx. one week.
Came out pretty good - the soaking in GoJo removed at least 80% of the crud.
Then I just detailed the coin by hand.
