I slipped out after work last night. The weather was threatening rain, so I figured I best not stray too far from home. I went to a vacant lot, where a house stood in the 1800s. I have hunted it before, without much luck, but figured that I would give it another try.

I hunted the front area of the house, I believe this area was actually under the front porch. Lots of trash, so I was just going slow. Suddenly I hit a piece of shallow trash, in the 70s on the Deus, as I dug down about an inch to remove it, whoa it's an IHC! One foot away and three inches deep another one, then a third one appeared, shortly thereafter. Having dug six coins, I figured that I would leave and "save" the rest for another day.

All in all I dug 6 coins, all small cents: 1988, 1946, 1914, 1894, 1888 & 1887. I was at the site for just over an hour. In my little world, that is an awesome hunt... half the coins dug were IHCs!

Thanks for looking and best of luck on your hunts!

Wow , yes, in my little world that's also an AweSome hunt. Six cents and three are Indians and none are zincolns? How often does that happen?

I'd be happy with that.

Thanks BA.

I did dig a 1988... so one zincoln did slip into the party.

However, two thirds of the coins were over a 100 years old... and half were from the 1800s! That's never happened to me before.

Now that is a banner hunt for the Orange Shaded area! !
Nice hunt Tom.

Love those injuns!!! But no silver Tom?? Everythjng ok? Lol great finds

Tom - when I saw the subject line I was hoping for two 3 cent silvers, but 3 IHs and 3 wheaties in an hour is still an excellent hunt. Nice going!

I love digging Indian heads bud. I'd be psyched with that short hunt

Those three Indians match my 2 year total of IH's so that is one heck of a hunt in my little world. Congrats.

That was an hour well spent. Too bad the 1914 did not have a D on it,but still a good find. The cents after mid year 1982 were zinc ,and only copper coated.

Great hunt Tom! I've only found a total of 2 IHC since starting this addictive hobby! Congrats

No everything is not OK! I have been feverishly hunting for silver coins, without any luck. Plenty of Wheaties, now Indians, but no silvers. Hopefully they will reappear under my coil in short order!

Thanks man!

Nice hunt Tom.

I figured those slow Southerners were sipping sweet tea on the porch, while all of their coins fell out of their pockets!

Thanks Vino.

Heck of a six cents it is!, I know how much you like the IHs so great job brother!

You're assembling quite a tribe of Indians Tom. Congratulations

Thanks man. Let me know when you have time, and I will take you to the place and see if you can find some IHCs... just please don't find any silver. OK?

Nice hunt! My grand total for IH cents in the 19 or 20 months I have been detecting is 2.5. (One was so worn thin and crusty it took forever just to figure out what is was.) My point is... you suck. :laughing7:

Excellent! You found 3 more IH pennies in an hour then I've found my whole MDing career. Great job! I guess you're saving the seated silvers for the next trip out? Get Todd to take you there and you're sure to find silver coins.

You are too busy digging silver half dollars to bother with crusty Indians.

Did you notice quite different numbers for the Indians as opposed to the wheaties ? Most of the posts I've seen where people have
found IH's suggest a similar signal to a zincoln cent ?
