I slipped out after work last night. The weather was threatening rain, so I figured I best not stray too far from home. I went to a vacant lot, where a house stood in the 1800s. I have hunted it before, without much luck, but figured that I would give it another try.

I hunted the front area of the house, I believe this area was actually under the front porch. Lots of trash, so I was just going slow. Suddenly I hit a piece of shallow trash, in the 70s on the Deus, as I dug down about an inch to remove it, whoa it's an IHC! One foot away and three inches deep another one, then a third one appeared, shortly thereafter. Having dug six coins, I figured that I would leave and "save" the rest for another day.

All in all I dug 6 coins, all small cents: 1988, 1946, 1914, 1894, 1888 & 1887. I was at the site for just over an hour. In my little world, that is an awesome hunt... half the coins dug were IHCs!

Thanks for looking and best of luck on your hunts!

Did you notice quite different numbers for the Indians as opposed to the wheaties ? Most of the posts I've seen where people have
found IH's suggest a similar signal to a zincoln cent ?

The IHCs came in about 3 numbers below zinc cents... on the Deus at 12KHZ zincs are 80 or so, these came in around 77, but were scratchy and jumpy... I assume because they were corroded. At this spot, I was digging all targets that were not iron, just to be sure. Thanks Argentium!

Its a shame all you found was pennys he he. Nice.

Nice going on the IHC's.

Very nice indeed.

Tom - when I saw the subject line I was hoping for two 3 cent silvers, but 3 IHs and 3 wheaties in an hour is still an excellent hunt. Nice going!

I was thinking the same, and started to feel a bit Jealous ., A great Hour Hunt indeed.
Davers

Great Digs CT. Can't remember the last time I've even dug an Indian.

Good job Tom. I have only dug 3 IH's all year.

IHP's on any hunt make me a happy camper. Too bad we gotta dig a lot of zincolns in the meantime. Nice finds bud!

Nice Indians I've gotten a few this year and they always bring a smile

Awesome hunt!!

One IH in my world would have bee a Great hunt, Sweet!!

Those indians are just as good as mercs or rosies in my eyes. Nice little hunt you had there Tom. I'd be very happy pulling those 6 cents,

A SHOT OF WHISKEY*
In the old west a .45 cartridge for a six-gun cost 12 cents, so did a glass of whiskey. If a
cowhand was low on cash he would often give the bartender a cartridge in
exchange for a drink. This became known as a "shot" of whiskey.*

The IH's are looking good.... They would be toasted coming out of the dirt around here.... Congrats..

Good work buddy, just my two cents worth.

Your own copper mine! Sweet!
