Skunk Flint

This is a type found only in N Ga and N Ala. As in the color of it. I adore this type of stone and am looking for some as in chunks but dont know what it looks like with the cortex on. How can you find out what a piece would look like in the raw state?

It will probably have a outer white-ish rind, by cracking it open you reveal the inner flint.
It may mean you have to go out and search, sometimes hours, to and crack open a lot of rocks.
As you gain experience you will be able to tell better what is likely to be a flint.

You can actually see the outer white-ish rind on some of those specimens you showed.

Don't forget protective equipment, i.e. cloves, eye protection etc.
