Looks like oldie.

It's an old Crotal Bell - most were made in England.
Some were made in the 1700's but most of them are 1800's.
Check and see if there's any Mfg. initial on the bottom of the Bell.
If there is do a Google search "Dating Crotal Bells" and you should be able to find out who made it and when.

Looks like the one I found a couple weeks ago although that one had a bronze notch whereas if my eyes are good, yours has a steel notch? @pepperj was pretty helpful on that. Pepper had some info about the metal yours could be in this post.

Nailed it!

I dug so many nails today! The good news is that there were a lot of square nails on this circa 1843 homestead. There were so many nails and signals that I was only able to make a 30 foot run the width of my swing and found nails in every single hole I dug today. I had high hopes for older finds...
