Greetings friends.
I got permission to hunt this old place so I spent the afternoon swinging and sweating.
Not many targets in the yard but I found a spot in the back with lots of small iron.
The crotal bell piece and the gilt button were found there. The only word I can make out on the back of the button is Calcutta.
The wheatie was in the yard. I think the place has prolly been landscaped or else hunted thoroughly.
Not many finds but it was fun to get out.
Best regards, Merf

I'm sure you will make up for it down the road. Nice pics. I did 7 hours yesterday with some slim pickens. Went out today and lasted an hour. Just felt burnt -out.

Merf,
Still better than Don and I's 1820's hunt. Between the two of us we found one coin - a 70's penny. :P

The house looks awesome. The button is cool and at least you found an old coin. ;D

I'm enjoying the sweating now - as long as I can keep the skeeters off.

What a great house! Man, it's huge. Glad you found some treasure in all that work. I'm pretty un-knowledgeable (the new filter woundn't let me use the i-word) about a lot of things, buttons included - but I love that Lincoln!!! Congrats!

THAT is a fine looking house. i bet your hopes were soaring. i'm sure there are some prizes somewhere in the area. good luck

Nice estate, Merf. Cool button and Wheatie. Looks like that would have been a pretty big crotal bell if it were whole. Well, at least you are getting out.
