Hey Guys, got out yesterday for a couple of hours in the early afternoon and I must say, I was enjoying the sunshine!

Although I hunt all year round, I really gotta say, I was loving the weather. For me, Spring is my favorite time of year to dig even

with the constant battle against poison ivy and ticks ;D :P

I drove to my site, got out of the truck and within 5 minutes started the day off right with an Eagle Button. I had a great time

but with only 2-3 hours to dig, I was in the zone and finished out the day with some nice finds! Thanks for looking and

here they are:

HOLED BRAIDED HAIR LARGE CENT (This find came in the middle of the dig and had about 5 nails above it in the soil layer but I could still here its strong tone coming through.)

Ornate Buckle/Pin (This relic had an attachment on the back very similar to the ones you find on the back of some Rosettes as can be seen in the group shot below. It's very pretty in person

Given where I found it and the style, I do believe its a 1700s ring. I found it right next to where I found that Silver the other day with the silvermark that dated to 1740. This area had occupation from the 1600's on up. Thanks man :icon_thumleft:

Sentinel: I see you're using a T2. Haven't you also used an MXT? If so, could you discuss your preferences and compare the machines? Thanks.

I love them BOTH and would not give up my MXT unless you pried it from my cold dead hands. I love them both and they compliment each other well. I'll tell you that I've dug a TON of relics with my MXT over the years. The key is to get a bigger after market coil. This REALLY gives it alot more added depth as you can ask my diggin partner UMRGolf. The machine is exceptionally deep with an 11 x 14 Excelerator Coil.
On the other hand, I am LOVIN' my new T2 Limited! This machine is super deep as well and is the best Iron discriminating machine I've ever owned BAR NONE! I've been digging some great relics with it too in the couple months I've had it. :icon_thumleft:

Man I'd love to come home with a day like that. Very nice finds and I have to agree with others. There is something about that key that I really like. Can't imagine what you'd come home with if you hunted more than a couple hours. Looks like a great place. HH!

Thanks - good advice. I don't see that 10x14 offered any more. Where would I find one or something as good? Thanks again.

I use the 10x12 SEF coil from Kellyco on my MXT PRO. Check with them.

I did see that post.. :occasion14:..Excellent day! Wasn't sure it was the same place or not. You've got yourself a great site there. I have to agree about the MXT also, I love it. Joe has taught me a lot, but I'm still learning. I tend to follow him around a lot...lol. :laughing7:Congrats on those finds and can't wait to see what else comes out of the place. HH!

That's a great alternative Randy! Richard you MIGHT be able to find a nice used Excelerator coil in the BUY/SELL/TRADE Classifieds section of TreasureNet or myTreasureSpot, but if not, the one Randy stated above will do the trick too.

Yep, I can't say enough good things about the MXT, just a great machine and a relic hound with the right coil. Oh yeah? Joe's a dang good dude and has been a good friend of mine for the past 5 years here on TNet. Stick with'em he knows all those lil secret niches around Antietam! ;D

sweet hunt! kinda liking that key myself!

Great finds as usual and I'm really diggin' that ring. Does the initial coincide with any of the property owners names from your research?

Great stuff as usual. Love your presentation. :headbang:
