So i worked the grave yard sift tonight and figured I would head out and do some detecting today. it was a nice crisp 96 degrees today, and the hot weather has started to dry up the local river. so i went down to the river right under a main road bridge and the water was so low you could go underneath and detect. i didn't find a lot a few pull tabs, some cool looking rocks, some crystals and these to strange looking figurines. the look to be Indian not the American ones but the actual India. 2 elephant figurines one is obviously either tin or aluminum, ad the other well i don't know it's heavy about 3 ounces but small you can see in comparison to the pull tabs. it is tarnished pretty bad but underneath it almost looks like copper. maybe bronze?Huh Huh i don't know maybe someone can help figure it out.

They appear to be Hindu deities. The elephant-headed one is Ganesha. I can't see the other's details clearly enough to identify it.

Unfortunately, no, although I suspect that they may be 20th century items produced for the tourist market. For a really reliable answer, you'd need to ask an expert on Hindu ethnograpic art.

There was one posted a couple of years ago that was found in the surf. The thought was that they were thrown in the water for a blessing or luck??? Tony

The pictures arent that bad. I have seen much worse. At least you have macro lens. :icon_thumright: It looks like you may have used a flash though or the white background is causing the problems. The best pics utilize outdoor natural light with a darker background, such as blue, and flash off. Be careful of shadows.

Sorry I cannot help ID.
