Heel plate ID needed

Found this hunting an old spot in NC yesterday with Mike (sage) from 4-H. I believe it to have come from the heel of a mans shoe but what date was it made and if there may be any value? It looks collectible anyway. Thanks in advance!

It reads on one side:
SB
Smith-Brisco Shoe Company
Lynchburg, VA

Other side:That uses travel wear (upper left)
Sherlock Holmes looking guy Center
The Steadfast Shoe
Bench made
