I've looked and looked online and I can't find one like it. It sure does look to be an old button. Is there any thing like writing on the reverse? I would think some TN member would have a clue to this button. I know there's books on old military buttons, but I don't have any. I also can't figure out what the eagle is perched on. It doesn't look like an anchor like some of the others I've looked at. A little better focused picture may help in viewing an enlargement of it.

I believe it is a Navy-theme fashion button, for reasons explained by CannonballGuy and BigCypressHunter here: http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/what/249055-help-id-button-2.html
Creskol question about the back is a good one, as it often is important in acurately identifying and dating buttons. I think though that the front in this case ID's it as civilian.
