Found this on a farm that's been occupied since 1890. When I cleaned it I thought the bottom looked like it may be silver so I tossed it in a jar with vinegar and warm peroxide. Bottom took on an odd copper look to it like some penny's had once when I tried it on a penny.
It doesn't look like there was a handle on it or like any part has broken off. It's too deep to be a spoon. The shape is a bit uneven like a bathtub that rises on one end. I've heard that the owner from wY back then did some tin smithing.
Wada ya think? Salt cellar? Some type of lead melting vessel?
Dimension 2 1/8 long by1 1/16 wide by 1/2 to 5/8" tall.
