The unusual looking fossil is estimated to be a few hundred million years old dating to the Carboniferous period.

Neat fossil. The article says it's a split crinoid stem. I've found lots of crinoids, but nothing resembling that.

When I first saw it I immediately thought of some horror flick I watched years ago that had some creepy little demon thing full of teeth sliding a knife around under the door the main character was hiding behind. Can’t think of the name of the movie for nothing now though. It gave me the Willies for a long time I remember. 🤣😂🤣
