Up here in the No, foil East it has been a terrible winter. I tried detecting on one of the local beaches earlier this week. It was not a bad day, 40 degrees and no wind for a change. The beaches here in Rhode Island are upside down. Looks like most of the coins and jewelry are very deep and anything pushed by the waves sinks down and gets covered quickly. What I am finding is mostly Can Slaw, foil and a lot of junk. Did get some good hits with nice tones but when I tried to dig them up I hit icaw comese at 6 inches. What ever is there is under the ice.. You need a jack hammer to get to it. My heavy SS digger with the long handle just slides over it and just so hard I cannot get threw it. Found one area that had no ice, cannot understand that but there was nothing there. Just have to wait till the thaw comes. Have not even given any thought to other areas, like fields, parks etc... We still have over a foot of snow and the ground is hard as rock. Ice and snow everywhere.
