Can't see the date very well, Peteybob...im taking its a '65...lol, that's funny-I had 2 heartbreakers just yesterday, dug a 65 quarter AND a 65 dime...grrr...but plz know-I dug probably more than a dozen 65's before digging a silver GW..and there were TWO in da hole!! Patience is a virtue...I do not possess lol...when I first started detecting, I dug mostly parks, schools etc...and it wasn't until I weaned myself from public property to older, private property that the silver started to go in the pouch regularly. Keep digging...it's not easy..but when you find it, itl be worth the wait....Ddf

Actually found my first silver, a dime in a coinstar return...lol

My first time out I found a dime, five pennies and a Wheatie in my front yard!

I dug my first silver quarter Wednesday. Less than a half of inch down. 1935 D. What a great feeling. 100 year old house. Me and a fellow detectors dug a total of eight buffalo nickels alone with multiple wheats a silver ring and a V nickel. It was a great day! To say the least. I it a coin spill of three buffalo nickels and a wheat all in the same hole. I have never found a buffalo before that day. Don't give up. When the coil is over that silver quarter you will dig it.

As said above, the silver has to be there in order to get one. Do some door knocking after spotting old homes. I'm always amazed what is in the ground at older places. Seems most homes with some age always have a silver ring lingering in the soil too!

There were tons of 65 quarters minter because so many people horded the silver as 64 was the last year of it. There was a shortage of Quarters in 65.
