Very excitedly he tells me about Botswana this or that. I told him to slow down.
Things started rolling for him at an exhibit a few years ago when a local journalist interviewed him.

Turns out some folk heard about his desire and are willing to set him up with everything but the travel costs.
I remember when he was telling me about his plans to photograph polar bears in Churchill. He had already figured out gas costs before I told him that had to be some neat trick since there weren't no roads going to Churchill.
Go Canadians, they heard about it also and they told him to get up there, and they'd rig the Tundra Buggy for him. He had a good trip there and got some great shots of the big beasts.
Next came the Chilkat Valley. Alsaka's DNR set him up with guides and a float plane for his pics of grizzlies.
Or maybe I have the order wrong. Both cases I tried to get details for him, but he had help from those Lion In The Street ladies to boot.
Things kind of take off and now he's got all the goods he needs (except airfare if I recall) for the African trip.
If you get the chance or take the time, check out the websites. If you feel particularly interested you might ask Dave for a copy of "Visions of Alaska" his DVD on the Chilkat trip, with additioanl shots from the Churchill trip. I helped him put the pics to the score on those, when he was trying to figure out how to put it together using Proshow Gold. I've also been his computer support for a more than a few years. Only ever charged him humility and karma though. Finally got him a decent computer (Dell) last year. Man has that saved me from so many calls over that last homemade rig (someone else's doing) he had.
