Being that today was the first day of Spring, I just wanted
to go somewhere for a pleasant, long walk. I didn't care much
about what I found as long as it was a nice, quiet walk to celebrate.

So, where did I choose? Why, the field of dreams, of course! :)

I didn't expect to find 6 brass buckles all at once though! ;)

Now....don't THAT just kick the pony!?! LOL
This place doesn't have any horses! So, although
it doesn't appear that it's been there for a real long time.

How long would you guys say this brass has been exposed to
the elements?

Also found the largest buckle I've ever found.

A couple modern clads, a flat button and a toasted copper.
Can't make any detail out yet but the copper weighs in at 7.86grams :dontknow:

I think Blingie's already working on his tan? LOL

Thanks for peeking and let the season commence!

Successful digs again! And you got the brass rings to prove it!

Lol blingie! It's only up march! Too early for that!

Seems like a productive hunt though! It's always good to get out.

Thanks guys!
Yeah, it's always a good thing, being able to get out. It's shame what farm fields do to coppers though.
I don't need to have them come out pretty as they went in, but, I do like being able to know what I've found.

You don't get many, but, ya know?

I wish the coins were silver/gold they seem to hold up better. ;)

You do get some very odd things though. I'm not much of a relic hunter but, to me, finding a whole harness??
Doesn't seem to impress much. :dontknow: Must happen a lot.

Well you're collecting your brass buckles all at one time!

At lest Blingie won't need sunscreen yet. Looks like Fishy is saving up for something.

If there hasn't been any horses there for a while, that maybe the age of the leather & brass buckles.
Maybe theres a stamp still visible on ths leather.

Nice walk you had! Congrats!

Not sure if you were joking, but the rusty one is steel/iron. Very common material for horse buckles.

Naw, Cru', I meant the harness. Those brass buckles sure don't look real old to me. Unless I'm mistaken about how brass corrodes. That's all.

Thanks!

OK.

Nice little walk on the first day of Spring. Lots of buckles and harness rings. We suddenly went frigid for a day, but the weekend is looking promising.
Congrats on your finds.
