So, I thought I'd try a little "Power Hunt".

I was trying to be like K1DDO1979, but, alas, I just couldn't
keep up! I couldn't figure out how to dig on the run either. ;)
Must be a younger crowd sorta thing. :)

Anyway, I had an opportunity to hunt a really old property
for a while today. (circa 1600's) I didn't have time to research
so I had to rely on the ole, trusted blind squirrel method.

No coins but one interesting piece:

What used to be a pen knife, my usual washer
and a Pennsylvania pull tab. :dontknow:

Old bullet.

Out in the field this piece just looked like any other
piece of brass/copper recycle bin bit. But, when I got it
home and rinsed it off, I noticed a bit of a pattern around the
edge.

The back appears like it had mounts of some sort.

The metal on the back appears to be silverish,
like lead. You can see it where I knicked it.

I can't make anything out in the center. Completely non-magnetic.
If anyone has a guess, or recognizes the pattern, feel free.

Don't think the Blingster has any interest. :dontknow:

Thanks for stopping by!

No help with ID but congrats on your finds

Cool plate. I hope someone can i.d it better or have a better idea..

You can't "try" a power hunt. You can only "do" a power hunt! Haha
It only works when your time is very short, it's running out and you start getting desperate for a last minute find. I only mean desperate because if you skip out on eating lunch during work or something to try detecting then you really hope it to be worth it! [emoji2]
I think you did good! [emoji106]

The astronomic constellations on that piece represent a different perspective from somewhere other than our planet........??
Hope you have an opportunity to take your time on that property.......no telling what it will give up!!

Weren't you exhilarated during the power hunt Whadi? The great outdoors, fresh air, and just you and the detector sweeping the earth, it doesn't get any better than that. I like to mix up my hunts once in a while, seems like you do to.. Sorry that I am no help with the piece you dug.

Keep swinging, you'll hit one out of the park real soon.

LOL! I like the old buckle/rosette Whadi! Sub 8-)

Congratulations on getting out and trying a Go, Go, Go, hunt. Quite a variety of finds
The plate definitely has a decorative border and appears to have had attachments on the back of it.
Congrats

For some people, me included, power hunts are quit regular. I have two younger boys and a full time job. Any time out swinging is a blessing! Congrats on the finds

I see a pattern other than the edge, It's one of Santa's reindeer, look again closer and like I you will start to hear the jingle bells.

Thanks for all the peeks and encouraging words folks! They are truly welcomed!

I don't know much about plates/buckles/rosettes....(heck! sometimes I wonder what I DO still know! :icon_scratch: LOL

It sort of figures though, I'd find something that is probably old, but, no way to ID it! :BangHead:

Ah well! :dontknow:

If it helps any it weighs in at a whopping 55 grams! Pretty heavy for it's size.

Tempis fugit; ergo carpe diem! Sooooooo......get ta carpe-ing!!! ;)

Haha. That's the story of most of my hunts. 30 minutes here, 45 minutes there.

Funny thing is that a lot of my best finds are from those short hunts. I could go to a new spot for 3 or 4 hours and barely find anything. Stop in somewhere quick last minute before dark and get silvers or large coppers. But that's part of the fun. You just never know what's coming next or when! [emoji106]

Great finds! Congrats. Glad fishy and Blingy survived Thanksgiving. -Lisa & John

I though you'd try another one by now! [emoji2]
