What's new

So my friends wife says...

Ohiochris,

I have to agree with ya. We were in Erie Pa - then over to Ohio (the lakes), and we did get a group who thought we were bums looking for some "change". I guess I had to laugh - they were driving a car that cost less than my detector!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I let them think that all the time - how many stories have to heard about metal detectors getting robbed for their goodies? I have heard of only one over the years (in Connecticut), and they stole his 6 plus bucks and a cheap ring he had found - and left him with his 1000 dollar md.

Hee, hee!!!!

An older friend of mine who is now deceased once told me, "You have to be a tough SOB to get old!" We had a good laugh. But now that I are one, it ain't that funny. He was right! Don't plan on putting anything off for old age that you can do now. That's the best advice I can give any young person. And being realistic by young I mean 30 to 50. By then somewhere in that age group you should have reached your peak earnings and probably can afford to do more than when you are in your teens and twenties. Do it! Even if you have to borrow a little or scrimp and save, do it! Then when you hit your 60s and 70s and are no longer physically able to do a lot of things you will have a lot of good memories and can enjoy watching and hearing about younger and more able folks doing it! What is it? It is anything you have always dreamed of. Go hunt in Africa, or just go on a photo safari. Take a 4 wheeler and ride and camp or hike the mountain trails in the mountainous states. Go visit all the wonders of the USA, Washington DC, the Smithsonian, the Grand Canyon, go see Old Faithful and the giant redwoods in Yosemity...(if that's where they are). See the Ozarks, swim in both oceans and the gulf, eat seafood in Maine, go scuba diving. Do it all, all you can and also hunt treasuere until you are crosseyed! Then post your finds and show me your finds and pictures. That will make an old fart very happy! Monty

Monty is spot on!!!

There are no guarantees that tomorrow will come. And, even if it does come, that you will still be able to do what you yearn to do.
