So you forgot your pin pointer, do go get it or tough it out?

If you forget your black rubber garden gloves..do you go back or tough it out by actually wiping the mud off coins using your bare hands?

I have never used a carrot but probably would if I had one.

I don't use gloves .
As for cleaning coins, I use my Pants just above the Knees & my Thumb.

I had a friend who just popped them in his mouth and chew
to clean the dirt off

I don’t either. However the majority of the YouTube videos about detecting show people wearing black rubber gloves, so it must be popular.

I used to wash gold nuggets in my mouth. Now I consider the possibility that they may have mercury on them.

This happened just the other day. Realized I forgot my PP but had driven too far to go back. It took more effort but made the best of it.

I never keep any gear in the car. Too paranoid about having stuff stolen.

No pin pointer would be pretty frustrating. I still remember what it was like before I got one.... I almost always detect local, for a lot of this year that was within a just few blocks of my house. It would be a far bigger waste of time to go without.

I just started using rubberized gloves late this year. I do like using them but I doubt I would go to far out of my way if I forgot them.

No way with out it

What brands of pin pointers are all you using?
I dont use one, but maybe I should.

Don't leave home without it!

I get mad if I forget something, trashy places are tough without a pinpointer, so I'd most likely go back and get it.

I would just use my detector on its side...

WWBLD What Would Bill Lad Do...lmao:happysmiley:

I use the orange Garret Pro pointer. I also have a Whites PP but I've never really used it.

I keep a list of items I need for any hunt so as to avoid forgetting something.

If for some reason I missed my pin-pointer or it went down during a hunt, I would hunt anyway. -- I was detecting before there were pin-pointers, so I could easily do it again, although they do save a TON of time! And like others here; I have a spare.

For those of us that use pin pointers, we kind of depend on them to speed the process up. I would think that they can help some in not scratching or destroying a valuable coin at times. like our detectors, they have come a long ways
