🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Solid copper strap cinch?

Found this at an old farmhouse site among the myriad of Ball/Mason jar lids. There was obviously and old dump site near the house. It appears to be solid copper, since the bar on the back is easily bent with the fingers. Anyone have any idea what it is?

One half of a buckle. The other side would have been a mirror image of the piece you found, with a tab that goes into the slot linking the two halves together.

Yeap two piece ladies sash buckle, at least that is what I've seen them called. The backside would look similar to this one.
