Some buttons and a "whattizit".
I got back to one of my "safety" sites this morning. There are still some targets to be dug. No old coins today, but I managed a few relics including another watch fob and some more buttons, including the early 1800's eagle button with a common backmark. It was nice to see some gilt remaining. It is a rarity from these old fields!
The "whattizit" was dug last week at my "soccer field of dreams: where I dug a bunch of coppers a few weeks back and more recently the wax seal and the CW lead soldier. Any guesses as to its purpose? (The Franklin half is shown for size comparison.)
