What ever it is, it's got to be a banner find. I vote banner.

[jrpoppapump]

it looks like it was holding something, flute?, trumpet?, harp?

[diggummup]

In Rome he is referred to as Faunus. But i've never seen a child version of him and he always has small horns. Interesting piece to say the least.

[Dougshause1]

Missing the pan flute, hope you can find it. Wow what a great find.

[bazinga]

Is this marked silver somewhere?

Sure looks like the decorative front to an andiron.

[Shambler]

It looks too pitted to be silver.

[Argentium]

This is clearly an important and BANNER find !!! Argentium.
