Been a few weeks since ive posted been spending a lot of time with my dad who is 75 with end stage kidney failure and has been on dialysis for the last two years and now has end stage heart failure and was given weeks . But in between work and visit I did get a few chances to get out and about .

A few weekends back I got out with deadheaddigger and we didnt have much luck at door knocking so we ended up at one of my old spots and scored some C.W lead my total bullet score was 21.5 the .5 was a bullet intentionally cut in half and a grape shot .

Yesterday I headed out and took a wrong turn and ended up on the door step of a area I tried a few weeks ago with DHD but we didnt have any luck getting in anywhere , but today the owner was home and he explained no one had been by in years ...which was probably because it is a intimidating 3.5 million dollar place , but he said sure go right ahead help yourself .It doesnt get much better than having a whole actual battlefield to yourself that hasnt been touch in years , other than the thieves who sneak in at night the owner was telling me about .

So first find was a catch item not sure what it is or what it was for , second artillery frag from a shenkel shell ,third confederate flat button ,fourth a beautiful confederate flat button covered in gold gilt at first I thought it was a gold coin ,then another confederate flat button . Then scored fragment after fragment and as I was leaving while walking past where the old barn used to sit I hit a solid sound at 8 inch and pulled out a awesome 1878 Swedish Cow bell solid brass and then one solid base sharps the top piece to a syringe and a saddle rivet . I also found the owners car keys in a 100 acre field of grass , which he was happy I located them .

And I had to laugh, all through out the day I keep hitting nice signals at 8 inches I would dig down flip the plug pinpointer then PULL TAB all the exact same kind of pull tab same depth, so I figured the old timers who hit the site years ago probably got a laugh by putting one there after removing the relic and drinking a beer I was just picturing that so I thought I would carry on the favor for the next generation HA HA so I carefully tucked them back in the hole since i know where there at since I try to mark ever hole with gps to map out finds !

And there are few other items I score along the way in the last few weeks such as a lead soldiers , a 1800's kids steel iron and a wierd looking key with a square end , not sure what it went to , and also at the new battlefield site I score some peices of brass and was trying to figure out what they would have went to , both peices are broken off of something and are curved . So thanks for looking and if any has idea's on the mystery stuff hit me up !

A lot of nice stuff, I especially like that brass bell, I would hope that would clean up nice. Congrats

That piece you think may be a key looks like a bolt part of a lock. I have pulled apart a few to fix on a house I owned. I recall the bolt part looking something like that. Great finds, especially the bell!

A man I have the uttmost respect for who worked his self to skin and bones literaly ,to provide for his family and never put his self first always last . But I take faith in knowing that when the day comes , that one day I will see him again . And make every moment count !

As for the bell I looked it up before I posted ,if you type in 1878 swedish cow bell it will come up on ebay it is kind of a rare bell and definatly a cool find ...!
