Nice finds i haven’t made the plunge on the HF coil soon though .I here it’s a button magnet.

Nice finds, congratulations! :occasion14:

The second one may be lead. I’ve several buttons of that style made of lead. Although the color and surface suggest pewter

I have been told that the first and second buttons are Spanish military Pre Rev War period.

Hmmm

Did they say why they’re considered Spanish mil? I see plain buttons with no markings which makes them just buttons. I read an article not too long ago about buttons in the Gulf and in Spanish territories. What I took away from it was many of the buttons were British with contemporary styling.

Yeah, because they found the same type of buttons in the same place that I found these. I guess it’s the location that I found them and the style/ materials of the buttons that makes them uniquely Spanish military? In fact the first button is supposedly Spanish Ferdinand 70th regiment. My understanding is that many military buttons, pewter in particular were polished so many times that they were wiped clean.
