Went to one of my desert sites today. 72deg F and sunny, perfect hunting weather!
Well, the site didn't cough up any coins today, but I it was certainly nice to be out looking.

The 'V' shaped suspender buckle is one I haven't seen before.

The cartridge cases included a couple of big ol' 38-56's, one is kind of peculiar with a nail sticking through it.

The 38-56 is a bottle neck cartridge. I’m not sure what you found but it’s not a 38-56.

Actually, it is.
It looked like a straight-walled case in the pics because of the way it was smashed.

Your finds keep me warm. Went ice fishing last weekend with 24 inches of ice beneath us. No problem parking newer Toyota trucks on top next to our heated pop ups. Nice finds. Can't wait for my turn.
