Hey guys, got out with Nepa-will today to a spot of his that hes pounded with others and always seems to give up some goods. Managed 6 wheats, 2 buff nickels and a 1949 Jefferson nickel and last but not least a 1944 merc!, 20150417_172741.webp20150417_172745.webp3rd straight hunt with silver, that's silver #5 on the year, slow start but that's where I was last year at this time. Thanks Will!!20150417_174042.webp

I usually never clean my silver but this one had an ugly brown tarnish on it, a little baking soda and boom, nice and clean!20150417_174217.webp

Thanks alot gary, I only cleaned it because there was a brown crud on it, I think it turned out nice

Nice hunt fellas. Few keeper coins....good day

It was great finally getting out with you. Glad you were able to get some nice saves. I am sure Old Dudes nickel is floating around somewhere in those beaver tails.

Nice hunt... I was at my dads and his house isnt old at all. But the field its in was farmed for a while. Anyway, i found my first spill with my new AT Pro, it was 5 wheat cents; '36, '40, '44, '45, '45... Then found a '20, and 2 nickles from the 50's.... Wasnt bad at all to me, considering where and the short time i did it in...

I'm sure it is, I got so many different signals that were different from what I'm used to

Nice finds. Those nickels look like the crusty ones I've been digging lately !

Yeah they're toasty, the soil at this site was corrosive on the wheats, I'll still take em!

Nice score Chris. Some nasty ground judging from the way those wheaties were corroded. Good thing silver don't!

Keep 'Em coming!

Chris, don't know if you remember how bad that dateless Buff was the other day from our Amish hunt, but I thought I'd show you how naval jelly can help on a non valuable coin.

I neglected to take before pics. Thought I would show you since you showed interest in using it. If you notice, you can now see some nickel around the bust, and can almost make out a date.

Nice variety there..

That merc is a beauty..

Nice hunt. Any time you get silver is a good day! Congrats

Nice finds! Nothing like silver to brighten your day!

that's pretty cool, almost looks like a ghostly shadow around the silhouette, very cool!, I forgot to get some of that jelly today, I'm gonna have to try it!

Thanks alot guys, the finds weren't amazingly high In quantity , but they were challenging and I'm happy about that!

Good looking dime there, I don't think anybody is going to freak out over tidying up a 1944 Merc.

You kicked my butt today! 5 hours got me 1960, 1972 pennies, and 1978 dime grrrrr
