Clearly a lid to something? Snuff box or pill box

Whats on the back in terms of fixings?

Its 2"x3" and the hole in it looks to be added after its original use any ideas?

It looks like the secondary use for this item was target practice ??? ...As for its original use no idea

Looks like a decorate face plate to me. Maybe behind a drawer pull? The hole isn't quite centered, though. Dunno. -Noodle

The back is similar to the front no hinge attachments that i can see. The hole was drilled from back to front i thought it might be a bullet hole at first but the more i look at it i looks like drilling burrs on the front. The piece is about 1/16" thick. i thought maybe drawer pull but the hole is off center and drilled from the back but i see no attachment points at all has me scratching my head lol

Wow camera works much better outside lol

A playing card, especially the Ace of Spades used to be a popular target for .22 target shooting but have never seen anything like this. It was a good shot though.

Looks like it was once braded to something else and the brad was drilled out? Monty

Since it looks stamped, I'd think it was originally part of a furniture inlay. Early 1900's? Then re-used for something else. But I'm prolly wrong. ;)

Could it be, the lid of a 'small' pack of cards' box. Some one got upset and fired a shot - right through the Ace of Diamonds!
