Chance of rain 70% - Weather radar showed showers pushing in up near Rochester so I figured I had maybe 3 hours before the showers arrived
. So I suited up in my light weight coveralls for hot days and headed to my 2 favorite indian sites.
First site is where Rock & I have hunted in the past and had good luck but its been at least 3 or 4 years since Charlie has plowed it and right now only about 1/3rd of it is plowed , so only a 70' wide X 400' + strip is huntable. Charlie was'nt home so I did'nt get the chance to try and talk him into plowing the rest of the field.
Best find of the day was a rusted colonial folding pocket knife , I love finding these knives , makes 4 I have now
A Jews harp and a small tinkler.
Also found a few musketballs. One has deep teeth bites in it , and a folded piece of lead , Only the indian that made it knows what it was meant to be
I did find a flint point as I was searching , it was laying atop a big flat rock and I spotted it as the coil passed over it
Afterwards I headed to my 2nd site for about an hour and found 2 cut brass points and a triangle / nose ring WHICH broke as I pulled it from the dry hard plug
I did a silver solder job on it but did'nt work to well
( Note to self : BE MORE CAREFULL !! )
Happy July 4th to everyone !!!!

I have never seen anyone post so many brass points as the ones you've been finding: A relic any true relic hunter would seek out and find!

I am looking forward to your future hunts in the Mohawk Valley, my good buddy from York of the New!

Great assortment of finds for a great detectorist
