great start for your collection. I have found rocks to be more of an addiction than a hobby. it is my drug of choice. makes moving really difficult, but when you have collected for awhile, it's hard to get rid of them. love the coral. some very nice pieces!

Very nice collection, Vibes. I collect odd ones too, in fact just found one in my driveway, looks like the Shell emblem on the rock. I have rocks from all over the country and few from overseas...if it's big enough to write on I put the place, date on it...all part of my rock garden. Son has quite a few in his fish tank.

Thanks RR!

I don't know what it is but I am just as addicted to rock hounding as I am MD'ing!!! I'm using some of my cast-off rocks to create paths in a fairy garden I'm constructing with my nieces and nephew. We built one last year...and this year's fairy area is bigger and better!! We're in expansion mode:)

I also use a lot of the rocks in clear vases for my fresh cut flower arrangements! They look stunning...all the colors and patterns make for a splendid display!

Nice stones and fossils. Here are a few of my Lake Superior Agates. Also a Fairburn from SD. (By the penny, I cut the end off.)

Hi TimC!

Love the agates!!! I have a few I found...but I never have enough agates! Plus I want a rock cutter/wet saw...it'll happen when it's suppose to.

Do you rock hunt or just agate gather?

Hi Vibes, All kinds of rock hunting. Last month I went to Crater of Diamonds State Park in AR. I didn't find any diamonds, but did bring back jasper, conglomerate (that's a mouthful) and other rocks. I've been to MO often, especially when my wife was still alive, to dig up geodes. I would say I brought back no less than 500 lbs. Some were as big as bowling balls. My best collecting is in the Buffalo Gap National Grasslands in SD. In some areas you can not walk the ground without stepping on agates.

Am having a fun afternoon and am catching up on TNET forums.....At what beach did you find the nut...and have you considered putting your indian points in that forum...the folks would love it. A fairy garden would be fun....I,too, just cannot pass up a unique rock.....I also spied a perfect triangle....any idea about that as a game piece or what....have a ton of those....thanks for sharing and giving me a happy afternoon read....

Vibes, welcome to a life long addiction! I have been into rocks since I could walk. I'd go out to the driveway & pick up the "prettys" still do it. the other day I foumd a fossil on my way to the mailbox. your collection is a good start. I have found working odd shapes into the garden is a good way to make them a focal point.

Timc any time you get back down here to MO. let me know. will go diggin with ya. Or to ARK. I love the crystal mines! Vibes you should go with I think we could have a blast & show them what fun is really like!
chk out my MO fossil post. just found it last wk.

Fla Gal,

I have a few triangles...I find some at the beach and others in fields:)

The "nut" was found in the Keys.

I should take photos of all the triangles as they vary in sizes BUT I'm not 100% that they're artifacts. Hey I'd love to see a pic of your finds. I'm so addicted to rocks...and fossils. The other pic is a petoskey stone I found in Indiana by the Kankakee River.

Thanks for looking:)

I went by on I-55 in March to and from Crater of Diamonds. Would have loved to have you along. Next time I'm headed for MO I'll let you know.
