I got out today for a few hours with Andy (Thanks again Andy!) to a site we have hunted before...far from hunted out. I managed a few buttons, a few musketballs, a crusty Geo. II, an ox horn cap a pocket knife and a whatsit. Lots of fun!

Interesting finds Romeo! The pewter button could easily date into the 1700s. The what's it looks like some kind of a candle wick trimmer, just a guess. HH, Mike

You are correct on both counts...the area we were hunting was 1700s and it is a candle wick trimmer...confirmed by Montana Jim!

Yep, found the main part of one not too long ago. Cossack cob site I believe.

Too bad the Georgie is so toast.

Toast as usual...although a few decent ones have been plucked from that field...

A numbers game it is. Just hope if a rare one comes along it's the one that has the condition.

I do have some coppers I really like but my better luck has always been buttons and silver. Of course I won't complain a whole lot about that. :tongue3:
