Some silver on this frosty 95 degree day

Yesterday I happened to spot an empty old house (1935) for sale a block off Main St USA. After talking with neighbors and using the tax records website I was able to come up with a phone # and also gain permission. I figured since today was supposed to be the "coolest" day of the week at a frosty 95 degrees I had better get out and hit it. My Shamwow underwear did a fine job most of the day.
I started out great within the first 10 minutes scoring a couple silver dimes in the same hole. Unfortunately that was about the highlight of the yard. I was told there was a gold ring lost in the back yard many years ago, but I found two large bottle/trash areas that kind of killed the mood.
I was glad to at least have the chance to knock the dust off the ol' Silver Umax waiting for cooler weather this fall.
My finds were:
*1956 Rosie
*1943 Merc
*1928-56 Wheats
*Silver pin (real silver) - Any ideas what it is supposed to symbolize?
*Pine State Creamery token- Good for 3 cents. (My favorite find of the day)
*Beat up FOB
*Padlock, spoon, watch, etc.
*Three small glass bottles buried 1/2 way in the dirt

Were you using a jack hammer or pick-ax to dig with in this dry weather?

That's me Bill, The Crotchfather.
The ground wasn't too bad in most places, but I did hit some hard red clay soil in back by one of the old dump areas.
I'm wondering if the old guy just told me there was a gold ring back there in case I did find one. After I had detected and went home, I e-mailed his wife as I told her I would do to show her pictures of what I had found since they didn't live at this house. Since I hadn't found the ring I told her I could try again another time and asked if there was any idea where it may have been lost in the yard. No reply back on that question. Maybe the old guy was one step ahead of me.
