I found this the other day in the woods near a old cellar hole. I believe its made out of of brass and about five inches long. There's threads on the top where its broken. I was thinking its an old flashlight. Its almost the same dimensions as my cheapo plastic one. Am I right on this one? IMG_20180202_185304.webpIMG_20180202_185325.webpIMG_20180202_185400.webp

Looks like one of those old house fuses that where about 4 to 5 inches long.

Can't be a house fuse with out a non-conductive outer center. The inner element is the only part that is conductive between the two ends. The thickness of the element determines at which amps it will burn out. Some folks did use pieces of copper tubing as a plug in a pinch or if they had no money for a real fuse.
