Some sort of hook???

[jgas]

Located in a field full of mid 1800 coins and relics. Not sure what this hook might be. Any thoughts? Jgas.

that is from some horse harness/tack. can't remember the exact name of it. Is this field by chance associated with horse racing?

Super quick ID. Awesome. I don’t think there was a race track there. Just a couple old 1830-50 homesteads. Lots of iron and horse related items around here. Thanks for the ID. I knew you guys wouldn’t disappoint. Jgas.
