Made a little field trip with one of our clubs to a scirmish site in Arkansas. The scirmish only lasted a short time but there were over 160 casualties. About 20 of us went and hunted several field sites. There's been many good finds by the others over the years, including some really nice coins so I thought I'd give it a try. There's not that much to show except for a lot of scrap iron from farm machinery and such but was able to pull a few things out of the soil for safe keeping.
One item looks to be either a mouth for a canteen or some kind of metal flask. Another item might be part of a pistol hammer but the shape seems a bit wrong. :-\ ???
Thanks for looking.

is the powder flask/canteen spigot threaded ?

As long as it wasnt you who bit the bullet then we are all ok! :)

Sounds like a fun time you all had!

Nice finds stoney. I enjoy hunting in Arkansas. There was all kinds of bushwhacking done in that state during the Civil War. Every cave at one point in time probably had some booty hidden away in it...Steve

Good Job Stoney! I still haven't gotten my first CW bullet. Those are beautiful examples.
