your not alowed to detect any park in the county because of the metal detecting craze in the late 70s,early 80s, there were people out in the parks digging up every thing with shovels and a kid got hurt and imagine all the siver that was being pulled up,i talked to a older guy that says he dont detect any more because it wasnt unusual to go home with 20 silver dimes when he first started, now he says he cant even find one.If you do it right the cops will just drive by,,not today, i saw a family ,a father a daughter probably 9 and a son probably 6 metal detecting this park i was out, right away i put my stuff away because i knew what was about to happen. The shovel the girl was carrying was almost as tall as her and it was bigger then the boy and the dad just kept swinging and digging these holes that i wouldve made me say something if i kept care of the park.So when the cops rolled up i casualy strolled over to see what was going on,the cop was pissed and kind of yelling because the guy was saying, what do you want me to do in a park sell drugs and the lil kids were like yea ,yea,.i was so mad when i heard this, the cop just said ,next time i see you here you will be fined and thats enough just leave.after this ,i talked to this guy and he said he was just doing it for fun with his kids since the tv show the diggers came on his kids want to find gold like pirates do and he didnt care ,because he just go to beaches.I could see this becoming the next trend. The thing that was good that the new cops didnt even know about metal detecting that much until these tv shows!but i do like the show! Has anyone notice this crap also happening?
