So there i was walking around minding my own business and thinking "it'd be cool to find a marble". Not a single glass ball in sight.... nowhere ! But I notice a nice dusty rope looking border and thought "there's no way"! But WAY!

For the record I'm trying to figure out what it is exactly besides the obvious. I've seen this before but I can't remember where. I'll find out though. Either way I'm excited about it if you can't tell!

What’s the history of that property? That can narrow it down, but yeah it’s a cool eagle buckle, hopefully it’s military

Forrest and his guys raided a union camp on the plantation. Along with the town the plantation swapped back and forth several times between union and Confederates.

I feel like it's an officer plate because of the design. I know it has writing on the border as well as the back. Hopefully I can make it out when I get home.

Now that I look at your photo the wings are different along with the size. The photo of yours looks more like a reproduction model used for reenactments.

reenactment of what and reproduction of what? I posted a western theme buckle , not related to any military I'm aware of. I could be wrong and often am but willing to learn....

I agree with Tic, modern buckle, no military association. Looks like it's made of pot metal, no military buckles made of pot metal. Modern flea market buckle.
