I never had any interest in saving all these different quarters out there these days, but now with so many of the various series in circulation, I thought it might be fun for the grandson. I was born in 1956 and grew up in the heyday of gathering coins from change and my paper route collection to fill the spots of these books, but those days are long gone. I don't think it'll take very long to fill these books up, but I am seeing limited availability of the earlier state quarters it seems and it's great idea for a baby sitting grandpa who's dealing with a 3 year old that needs stuff to do all the time. It's a super end of the day bedtime activity. You just wrap it up with, that's it kiddo, we can find no more, so let's go to bed now and hopefully we'll find more of what we need another day.

My 7 year old this weekend wants to collect pennies and looks at the dates now so a great time to gather all those wheats that are lying around everywhere and do something with them. Totally fun for him Tamrock and I of course for us to watch them. I think stamps may be in the cards too hopefully. Great Post!

The kid picks the quarters out and I tell him where they go. Those national park quarters are pretty hard to read without a magnifier with my old eyes. My older brother was a stamp collector, but that never interest me as much as seeking the coins.
