Detector(s) used
Ace 400 and a Carrot
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
Well, my second year of metal detecting is starting to pay off

First year was full of logging camp rust, this year is starting off much better

I went on a St Lucia vacation and took my detector :tongue3:...Was detecting in the SW corner of the island at night and found one of my all time favorite finds, i think its a Spanish cob 1/2 real. Same family tree as pieces of 8 (8 real). Its in poor condition and the stamp is 99% worn off and I had no idea what I had until I returned home and dumped out my coin bag. Proceeded to google "8 side old coins" and whammy!! https://coins.nd.edu/ColCoin/ColCoinText/Sp-Cobs.1.html

If anyone can comment as to the accuracy of my claim please do, always looking for more info!

That got the mojo flowing for the spring thaw up here in Michigan, which leads me to my best day ever courtesy of mk4125

Fur Trade Axe, 1857 1/2 dime, and my first ring ever

Gold and Stones are still on my "to-do" list but lets not get greedy - I'm happy with anything above a pull tab and 22 shell

Hi, nice finds. Congrats:icon_thumleft:

Very well done, congrats. You got some really good stuff.

You have to show us better pics, it's called "coin porn", and completely acceptable on this site.

Best of luck to you sir!

Sorry it took a while to honor the pic request, just got around to some TNet time tonight after another great day of dirt fishing
