We recently acquired this artifact and were told that it was found in the desert near Ridgecrest California some years ago. We were told that it might be a Spanish Conquistadors lance or spear? The Spaniards did pass through this area and other Spanish artifacts have been found in Kern County. It appears to be bronze or brass, hand hammered, deep patina and of great age. It measures 27 1/2" in length. We were wondering ifanyone might have seen a similar weapon?
If you would be so kind as to have a look at the enclosed photo (more available by emal). Any information you could shed would be most appreciated.

Thank you for your consideration.

This isn't my area of expertise, but I can say that clearer, higher res photos at different angles will help with ID.

I have to be honest, the reason I knew that it was a Lion spear is we had one on here back in December. As to how it got to America, that's anyones guess, souvenir from a holiday or job abroad or maybe a family heirloom :dontknow:. A bit more research may give you more of an idea :icon_thumleft:. Here is the link to the one I id'd in December http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,369123.0.html
