I dug out this spoon on the banks of a small stream in the woods behind my house. Found some other farm-related items nearby that likely date back to the early 1900s. Also, I dug out this circular shaped piece of iron from inside a CW winter campsite. Does it ring any bells? Thanks much

Close-up pcs of the old spoon

Certainly distinguishing features on the spoon, but I don't see any patterns. Any other way to date or associate it with a time period?

Thanks!

Good to hear, thanks. Do you think the horse tack is a piece from a McClellan Saddle?

Honestly, my first thought was that the spoon is part of the "Uri Geller Spoon-Bending Starter Kit". ;D

Yeah, I wasn't that excited about it. The spoon wasn't found next to the other good items - buckles, horse tack, etc. Thanks

OK, so I'm seeing the more likely time frame is the early 1900s. Cool.

you really can't date a site with such an item maybe 200 years old maybe 50 years old. kinda like a horseshoe , they're pretty much the same over the years.
date your site by coins or buttons found is a better method .

and as you know some home sites are in use for hundreds of years. and relics will overlap in time.
