Found an early site in the field across from my house years ago. It backs up to a wooded creek bed which I have never explored. Most woods around here are very difficult to hunt as its more jungle like than the open woods you see further north. Not a fan of ticks and poison ivy either. I gave it try anyway as its not quite as bad in winter. Ive never found an early silver here but today I found the next best thing, a 17th century spectacle buckle. My first ever good find in a woods

That thing is a thing of beauty. I would donate an organ to a good cause for one of those! Extremely nice! I'd get a machete and get in there!

Thanks. This is my sixth complete spectacle buckle and three of them are of this exact design. Must have been a popular motif or perhaps they were made locally in same shop

What a buckle harvest! I guess they were popular. You have some great sites. Thanks for all the great posts! Anytime I see one of your posts I know it's going to be interesting!

Awesome buckle I like the woods cause not many signals but when you get one it's usually something old. Hood job. Tommy
