I haven't been out detecting for a while and I was getting a bit of cabin fever, so I grabbed the camera, gave Benson a whistle and went for a walk today. When I got to my favorite field it looked like it was covered in water, it was shining and shimmering, the sun was winter low, the temp was cool, but it looked like a heat haze on the field. Then I realised, the haze was caused by the gentle breeze causing the fine spiders webs to move and look like a haze. But these were not webs, just single strands, billions of them over 25 plus acres. The pictures don't do them justice, but I've added a few bird pics from this afternoon to make up :laughing7:

I always enjoy your photos. The spider webs are from airborne or ballooning spiders, They cast the web into the air and travel on the wind currents.

Ian,I've seen webs like that several times, very cool looking. The Gold Finch is awesome. Thanks mate!! God Bless HH Chris

I've seen the webs like that also, and that's a great picture! I like the little guy in the last picture too! he's a cutie!

Great shots--well done!

All the best,
