Yesterday's after work hunt was successful. The Standing Liberty Quarter is almost worn slick (but I think she's purty). A Rosie, a silver plated spoon, 1 wheatie, 1 MO tax token, 2 keys, 1 hem weight, 1 button, 1 buckle and 30 cents clad. Thanks for peeking and HH.

Great stuff. Boy, the stories that quarter could tell.

Can someone diagnose type 1 or 2 on that quarter???

The strong rivets makes me think it’s a 1917 though I’m no expert!!

Congrats on the great finds - SLQ's are special coins in my book !

Good finds there 👍

As a very long-time collector of SLQs, I always look forward to seeing them posted, regardless of condition. IMHO, the most beautiful coin ever made. Congrats for some excellent finds!

Its worth posting to a coin site and see what they say about the coin. Even in this condition a 1916 quarter is worth $200-300.00 .. Nice Find

Good on you, mate. Those aren't easy to find!

After more inspection, I believe it's a type 2. Even though there's no evidence of stars (probably completely worn away) the distance from the bird belly to the rim looks to be more than what a type 1 typically has.

The Variety 1 Standing Liberty has hair at the back of the head that comes to a point. The Variety 2 has hair at the back of the head that is more rounded and points downward. Yours has the pointed hair which makes it a Variety 1 1916 or 1917. Nice find.
