You have some of the most intriguing places to hunt. Very nice!

What a cool looking old area - congrats on the great finds ! :icon_thumleft:

Great piece of Mexican coin history you found.
A partial inscription of "10Ds 20Gs" is seen. This represents 0.902777 fine silver. The fineness of the silver was measured in the medieval system of 'dineros' and 'granos'.
12 'dineros' was pure silver. Each 'dinero' was divided into 24 'granos'.
The denomination of the coin can be determine by its diameter.
Keep swinging, jorgeke !!

Don,

Thanks

Very valueable comments, as always.

This piece of coin, was intentionally cut during the time that was in use.
Called “tajo “

This specific piece of coin looks line is not silver, maybe bronze, we know that that type of coins must be silver, as you mentioned but I dont know why looks like is not 🤷🏾‍♂️

Thank you buddy

God bless you

Nice job finding those coins out there. Did you camp there overnight or just spend the day?

I spent a few days exploring Real del Catorce fifty three years ago. It is truly a place beyond words.
